The following epitaph was composed by Major John Etty-Leal:
When you go home
Tell them of us and say
For your tomorrow
We gave our today
April 25 is the day
“we remember”. We remember those
men and women young and old who were willing to go and willing to give. Willing to give up their
tomorrow so that you and I could enjoy our today.
What will you do with
your day?
As the sun sets on
today will you feel frustrated that you have wasted another day or will you
feel content with what you have achieved?
What habit or attitude
do you need to change today that will enable you to enjoy your tomorrow and feel like you are making a difference in your life and those around you?
Remember, “if nothing changes, nothing changes”
Take time to think
about this.
Albert Einstein
said “it is insanity to keep doing
the same thing over and over again expecting different results”.
It is easy to rush
through our lives doing the same things day in day out and never stopping to
assess where we are at, where we are going or what we hope to achieve.
Each day is a gift so
let’s enjoy them and make them count.
This Anzac Day take the time to remember and honour those “who gave their tomorrow for our today”!
