I don’t know about you but in the past,I have
set myself ridiculously unrealistic goals.
I start with a flurry of enthusiasm
that might last a week or two at the most, only to then give up and feel like
an absolute failure.
Having learnt the hard way, I now try to be
a little more realistic with my goal setting whilst still pushing myself out of
my comfort zone.
Looking back, I realize that even though I didn’t
achieve my early goals all was not lost. I did achieve something. I made some progress towards my goal. I became stronger and gained ground in that
area.
Now,
rather than focus on being perfect at achieving my target, I focus on the
progress I am making.
I congratulate myself on what I have
achieved which encourages me to keep going and keep trying because what matters most is the progress I make, not the perfection I achieve!
I am currently making "progress" towards my goal of writing a blog each week. Yayyy!
What are you making progress on?
